Why  a cargo bike crit in Montreal?

We know how far ahead European cities are when in comes to urban mobility. Cargo bikes have now become the optimal transportation choice for many families and businesses. Cargo Bike racing in Europe has grown over the years. We've had the pleasure of participating in a race in Berlin 2019. It's very exciting to see all the different types are cargo bikes, and best of all its open to all riders. Allo Velo has been commited to growing cargo bike awareness in Montreal and across Canada. We have been dreaming for years to finally host such and event. Finally, we can bring the cargo bike community together for some racing fun, and there is no better place than Montreal.

Tell me about the race? 

This is an amateur race open to all Cargo bike enthusiast. You do not need prior race experience or any special gear. The track will be a 700 loop , 3 laps, with obstacles. Two race categories (electric assist and non electric assist). More details to come once you sign up. Everyone gets a participation prize pack. There will be parking for your cargo bike and a repair station.

Do i need to own a Cargo Bike?

Yes, you need to bring your own cargo bike. However, ALLO VELO will be lending up to 5 Cargo bikes for those who want to participate but do not own a cargo bike. Please contact us directly on Facebook/Instagram @cargobikeleague

What qualifies as a cargo bike for the race?

We accept electric or non-electric assist (NO THROTTLE EBIKES) with a limit of 32kmh speed. It can be a long-tail (ex: Yuba), Long-John (ex; Triobike Cargo / Bullitt) or a Trike (ex: Butchers&Bicycles)

What are some conditions?

Rider must be 18+, wear a helmet and must sign our participation waiver

What happens if it rains?

The race goes on!
